Our Mission
The Worship and Fine Arts ministries exist for the purpose of experiencing God through music, drama and other celebrative arts.  We recognize that worship is to God and for the benefit of believers, while providing life-changing opportunities to non-believers.

Our Objectives
To Exalt, Edify, Encourage and Evangelize.

"Music is the number one communicator of values in our society; it bypasses the intellect and goes straight to the heart." - Rick Warren

PERFORMING ARTS

Praise Band - A variety of musicians provide strong instrumentation for the various dimensions of our services.  Our praise band consists of piano, keyboards, drums/percussion, bass guitar, acoustic, lead and rhythm guitars, and brass instrumentation.  We have a large group of musicians that are scheduled on a rotational basis.

Vocal Teams / Ensembles - Our worship experience is enhanced by worship teams, which provide vocal support for the various services.  Ensembles are also called upon, at appropriate times, to present special music.

Choir - Our "Community of Worshipers" participate in our weekend services as vocal support for Praise and Worship.  On a regular basis, the group is called upon to present choral selections that are challenging, encouraging and relevant.  The choir also performs special presentations and musicals on a seasonal basis (Easter, Christmas and other holidays).

Special Music - We present music that honors God, as well as music that speaks a clear and concise message in relevant styles.  Special care is exercised to ensure music is theme-appropriate, properly submitted, well rehearsed and presented in various forms (solos, duets, trios and other small groups).

Drama - Dramatic illustrations are used to provide imagery that enhances a particular aspect of our weekly services.  Large-scale dramatic presentations are incorporated within the ministry of Fine Arts during seasonal emphasis.

Special Emphasis Ministries - Seasonal events are the greatest opportunities for the church to reach out to our communities.  Bridge events such as the Community Christmas Card, Easter Musical and Guest Ministry concerts, allow us to present the Good News of Christ through the arts.

SUPPORTING ARTS

Sound Reinforcement - A foundational ministry for everything that happens is the sound reinforcement ministry.  The individuals involved in this ministry must display a commitment to service and a good musical ear.  An understanding of "basic electronics" is preferred but not required.

Lighting Technicians - Theater lighting enhances the various aspects of our worship services.  If you enjoy working with computers, you may find this area of ministry interesting.

Multimedia - We believe technology should be used to communicate the Good News as well as enhance the worship experience.  Video and computer-generated graphic enhancements are growing areas of interest.

Staging - Whether you desire to help construct the Christmas Card set, decorate the sanctuary for the seasonal emphasis or just help us to develop an environment for the presentation and communication of God's word, check out this supportive area of ministry.

Service Programming Team - A team of committed individuals meet for several hours a week to identify ways to creatively communicate God’s Word during the services.  This team endeavors to minister to the heart of God and challenge believers and unbelievers with a relevant presentation of truth.  We believe that God has given us gifts and talents that are to be used to fulfill the mission and vision of our local church body.  Therefore, we utilize music, drama, illustrations, and various forms of multimedia and print media to plan services in a creative and relevant fashion.
